Juggling profile

This is my juggling profile. I began juggling in spring of 2007. Below is a brief list of patterns tricks and props which I feel comfortable juggling, as well as a section on works in progress.

Props: I am fairly comfortable with three and four balls, three clubs, and I just picked up a set of rings.  So far I’ve flashed four rings and five balls.

Patterns: As I just mentioned I’m comfortable with three and four balls. For three I’ve got the cascade, reverse cascade, mills mess and the simple variants of these, as well as some basic tricks off these patterns, down pretty solidly. With four I am pretty much limited to the fountain. I try to work on synchronous and asynchronous evenly, but I am better at the alternating tosses.

In progress:

• 4 balls: At the moment I am really focused on four balls. My main focus is working on a smoother asynch to synch fountain, improving my columns toss, working on an outside-in fountain, getting comfortable with some 2-up 2-up tricks, figuring out the half-shower (5-3-5-3). There are tons and tons more four ball tricks I would absolutely love to learn, and I hope that once I get more comfortable with the tricks above I will be able to get into some siteswap patterns.

• 3 balls: I’ve really fallen in love with four balls in the past few months, so I have put a lot of three ball tricks and patterns on the back burner. At the top of that list is the shower. I know I really need to learn this, but it has been a long-time stumbling block. I also want to learn chops and burk’s barrage. I can do claw catches and some back of the hand stalls, and I practice these to keep them fresh pretty frequently. I work on flashing three (55500) every time I juggle three, and I can usually do about two, sometimes three runs of the pattern. I’ve worked on a three ball chase some in preparation for five, but it is sloppy and I know it.

• Clubs: Right now I am working on doubles. As recently as last week I could barely pull off a single double toss, but after going to the AJA juggling festival I’ve made some serious improvement. I still have to start off slowly but I can get two back-to-back doubles tosses into my pattern pretty smoothly. I still seem to only throw a 1 1/2 on my third, but I can tell I am making good progress. This is pretty much my main focus, but I would also like to work more on under arm tosses, flats, over the top, 1-up 2-up and kick ups.

 • Rings: I just got a set of rings and I am still getting comfortable with them. I don’t even know what I want to learn at this point.
